I’m not sure if wishing you a Happy Memorial Day is the proper phrasing but there you have it.
While most people see Memorial Day as a Monday off from work to spend outside with the barbecue (a noble pursuit), the day is intended to commemorate the U.S. men and women who died while in military service.
A national moment of silence takes place at 3pm local time. If you’re outside Philly, head over to Valley Forge park. That’s where I’ll be with my mom. We’ll be remembering her father, my Poppy.
Whatever you end up doing, have a great holiday!
