The little press that could!

Paul Harding’s Tinkers won the Pulitzer Prize! It is a coup for the small non-profit Bellevue Literary Press. Strangely enough, Bellevue is affiliated with NYU’s school of medicine. A foray into fiction is fascinating compared to the other books they have published.

I read somewhere that Harding received only a $1,000 advance and that small bookstores really pushed his novel to their customers. (Found it.) There’s hope for anything I eke out.

The Guardian writes about this here.

The Elegant Variation, as always, is on the ball.

Harding is now in esteemed company.
Endarkenment? Really?
