A no-brainer

I got a coupon from Barnes & Noble for discounted Valentine’s Day-themed items. One was a poetry collection by e.e. cummings. I had actually heard of it before and my curiosity was piqued. So last Wednesday when I was purchasing The Betrayal of the Blood Lily and saw that I had enough money left over, I bought Erotic Poems.

How could I not with this inside flap description?
Over a lifetime of prodigious and famously prolific E.E. Cummings sat in his study writing and thinking about sex. His private brooding gave way to poems and drawings of sexual and romantic love that delight and provoke. Here, gathered for the first time in a single volumn, is a generous selection of those erotic poems and sketches, culled from Cummings’s original manuscripts by the distinguished editor George James Firmage.

Really? Cummings sat around all day thinking about sex? Who knew?
Aren’t we a naughty boy, Edward Estlin?
And a quick flip shows that the sketches are quite fun. Some are modernist, one is a bit cubist. All seem to be based on the Kama Sutra.
